Talented music composer Johnny Bennett and painter Steve Adams arrive together at Lulu Varden's boarding house in Greenwich Village, where they meet the charming Patricia O'Neil. Providentially, they are invited to a party where Dillingworth, an influential composer, agrees to look at Johnny's new composition.
