From one job to another, at 47, Julien is still seeking stability, eternally maladapted. He's just published an autobiographical novel recounting childhood memories and the particular relationship he's had with his mother. Troubling revelations of a family bound by secrets. And this novel "The Heart Is What Dies Last" is a great success. His mother, from whom he's been estranged for years, doesn't know her son has revealed the unthinkable in his book. Without knowing this, she'll try to reconnect with him, make up for the lost years, and will ask him to help her "push up the daisies", not suspecting she'll consequently revive forgotten memories.
