    An attractive English teacher, Mary Ann Simpson (Army Irving), is a widow living in Rio for two years. Pedro Paulo (Antonio Fagundes) is a lawyer who's wife left him after seven years of marriage. Pedro Paulo's father is a tailor. His atelier in the same building where Mary Anne's English School in located. One day, a sliding elevator door brings Pedro Paulo and Mary Ann together and ends their loneliness. As they get closer to each other, they will realize how their lives will be even more intertwined with the interference of many other people and incidents.
