Because of Winn-Dixie

Opal is a ten-year-old girl who was abandoned by her mother at age three and moves to Naomi, a quaint little town in Florida, to live with her father. There, she rescues a stray dog she finds in a supermarket and names him Winn-Dixie. The special bond between Opal and her dog brings positive changes to the townspeople, especially helping to heal her rocky relationship with her father.
