Atanarjuat, The Fast Runner is the first film shot, produced and acted entirely by Inuits. From the very first images, the film plunges us into the unknown and immeasurable. Atanarjuat, a legendary character with an exceptional destiny, is the hero of this film, part action and part out-of-time, utopian fable. At Igloolik, passions are stirred within a community that is split into two rival tribes. This classic tragedy - from the first frames to its conclusion - unfurls against an immense backdrop of immaculate white snow and azure blue sky.
