In a decaying prison, first-time felon Ron Decker (Edward Furlong) begins a two-year sentence, stepping into a brutal world where violence dictates survival. Inside, the rules are harsh, and the stakes are unrelenting. After witnessing a riot, Ron finds himself under the protection of Earl Copen (Willem Dafoe), a seasoned inmate who has mastered the corrupt system, gaining the respect of hardened convicts and the favor of dishonest guards. Within this unforgiving environment, known as the "Animal Factory," rehabilitation is a distant concept. For Ron, navigating this community of prisoners becomes a relentless struggle for survival, where even respect can bind one as tightly as chains.
