American Hot Wax is the quintessential origin of Rock and Roll movie. AHW is a solid golden oldie, a blast from the past documenting the beginnings of rock and roll radio and the charismatic people who were around in the beginning. Tim McIntire as Allan Freed the man who coined the music genre name. Laraine Newman as Carol King a legendary songwriter at the legendary Brill building where all the hits of the 50's and early 60's were written. American Hot Wax is a classic and one of the best movies in the Rock / Bio genre. With a great soundtrack and some memorable music performances, American Hot Wax is a jewel in Rock's illustrious crown. See this movie, you won't regret it.
