Alza la testa

Antonio (Sergio Castellitto) is a shipyard worker training his beloved teenaged son Lorenzo in boxing. When an accident befalls the boy, the father comes in contact with two women -- one of whom is transsexual -- who each have a unique connection to his son. Angelini's ability to delineate the complexity of paternal relationships is once again evident, but here he delves into additional issues of sexuality and illegal immigration. Castellitto amazes as Antonio, a man beset by anger and disappointment who discovers in a surprising fashion his inherent humanity and ability to be a parent.
