In the aftermath of A Chinese Ghost Story, Ling Choi Sin (Leslie Cheung) returns to his hometown, only to be imprisoned while escaping from cannibals. With the aid of his cellmate, scholar Elder Chu (Feng Ku), he breaks free and soon encounters rebel sisters Moon (Michelle Reis) and Windy (Joey Wang), the latter eerily reminiscent of his lost love, Lip Siu Sin. Together with Taoist monk Autumn (Jacky Cheung), they unite to rescue the sisters' wrongfully imprisoned father, Lord Fu (Siu-Ming Lau), from a guarded convoy. As they strategize in an abandoned villa, their plans are disrupted by the awakening of a malevolent demon within its walls.
