A Better Tomorrow

In Hong Kong, gangsters Sung Tse-Ho and Mark maintain a close friendship. Ho's younger brother, Sung Tse-Kit, aspires to become a police officer, unaware of his brother's criminal activities. During a business trip to Taiwan with another criminal associate, Ho is betrayed and apprehended by the police. In retaliation, Mark eliminates the gang responsible for the betrayal. After serving a three-year prison sentence, Ho is released and returns to Hong Kong. He discovers that Kit harbors resentment towards him and is actively investigating the Mafia, while Mark is now physically impaired and living in poverty. Despite these challenges, Ho resolves to abandon his criminal past and works as a taxi driver. Nonetheless, he is continually confronted by his past and feels compelled to protect his estranged brother.
