Scientists have theorized that romantic love has an expiry date of approximately 19 months. As they approach the nineteenth month in their relationship, Rob (Ben Ratner) and Melanie (Angela Vint) decide to avoid the inevitable messy break-up with an innovative solution - a "new and better way" of breaking up. In fact, they are so confident in their approach that they invite a documentary crew to film their lives, so they can show the world their highly rational solution to ending relationships. Of course, once the camera starts rolling, the couple's plan proves to be anything but flawless.
