Un médecin local est alarmé par l'étrange épidémie qui sévit dans le village cornouaillais où il vit. Il fait venir son mentor, qui arrive avec sa jeune fille naïve, et peu à peu ils découvrent que ces décès - rendus encore plus terrifiants par leur réanimation inexplicable - pourraient avoir une cause plus sinistre.
