Imagine a nation where educating girls is considered an act of rebellion.
Based on a true story in which Taliban Leaders and Male Figures simply say ’’no’’ to female education of any kind, what the film tries to show is that: SOME RULES ARE MEANT TO BE BROKEN.
What happens when there is a dream, a dream that unites a team, a team of girls that can possibly... win over the world?
This inspirational true story shows the overcoming of overwhelming odds in a first robotic world-wide competition.
I liked and enjoyed the film very much, but it is, let’s face it, a bit by the numbers, a conventional idea we’ve seen many times and it’s somewhat schmaltzy, BUT, still moving and very worthwhile. And it does deal with Afghanistan and their archaic laws that actually do not conform with the teachings in the Koran.
It’s a movie all children and teens should see, particularly all young ladies as it is a film of hope.
With strong performances, a most compelling story and wonderful cinematography, ’’Rule Breakers’’ becomes more than just a film on robotics. It’s a fight for the right to education and the zeal that all knowledge can illuminate even the darkest times and places.

This is surely part underdog story & advocacy film that always shines its beacon of light on truth and better humanity while remaining true to the harsh reality all girls & women face in Afghanistan. There must be a continual push in the country to improve the lot of women. This germinating ideal will have to come about solely from hopeful Afghan women under attack as Taliban Leaders and men are never going to restore their educational rights, let alone their dignity and a better position in the family and society at large.

Very good movie, based on a true story, about a group of Afghan young women chasing a dream despite the obstacles they face in their country. Really heartwarming and uplifting. My wife gave it a 9.
