This movie will be seen as either really great or really terrible. It all comes down to what you expect from it. I walked in anticipating something totally absurd and nonsensical, and that's exactly what I got. Will Ferrell delivers his usual brand of humor, being hilariously bad. The characters are ridiculous, and the monsters look like they're straight out of the TV show Lost in Space. It all adds up to a laugh riot that's more than enough to take your mind off your troubles. Like the movie itself says, by keeping expectations low, it succeeds brilliantly in being the best it can be.
