Searing fun for the whole family, like being hit by a two ton heavy thing, great if thats what you go for. Some people like myself though prefer not to be front row center stage for another in an ongoing saga of oneupmanship films where one Bollywood director tries to blow the audience even further out of their seats than film before. Even with kids lightening up the proceedings it is still like a roller coaster with rockets on it from an emotional point of view. A touch much puts it mildly. Bring a parachute. I give it a seven with a high altitude warning.

Saw it in Copenhagen a few weeks ago and paid 99 kroner to see it (approx $25!) Yikes, I expected a lot, and was a little disappointed by Rani's performance. The best acting came from the kids and from Saif Ali who is great at precise, controlled acting. Rani still falls prey to Bollywood over-the-top overacting (a far cry from Black) in roles where bubbly personalities are portrayed. And she is far from being alone. It is really sad that this overacting is considered acceptable to Indian Directors. That said, the movie is a flawed but simple, delightful story that is carried by the kids who are marvelous. It could have been far more sincere and meaningful if Saif's bonding with the kids were not helped along by Rani's interference. And one never really sees the transition from hate to love between the two lead stars. It just happens inevitably because this is Bollywood.
Wasn't as good as I was expecting... kind of silly at times... but still might be a fun one for kids.

I thoroughly enjoyed this film, thanks to its special effects. I'm a big fan of the actress Rani, so naturally, I enjoy all her movies. The song "Lazy Lamhe" was fantastic, as were the others. In my opinion, it's a great cinema experience.

Good film! The story is well told and the characters are really well portrayed. Saif was really good, his acting felt so real and he looked great. Rani was adorable, she kept the film alive with her sweet smile and good acting. The kids are so cute, they acted so well for their age and are essentially the main characters of the film. The film is entirely based on the children, so it attracts the family audiences. However, one of the scenes is not very appropriate and it would have been better if it was told differently. Still, this film definitely brings a smile on your face, it makes you feel good. It would have been great if we got to see more of Rani & Saif together, but the children are really cute. The directing was well done and the locations are beautiful. It’s a good movie and will be enjoyed by everyone.

This could have been a great film, a "Mary Poppins" for a new generation. Unfortunately some of its moralistic and political undertones spoil it somewhat. However, the music is quite good, the acting is okay and if you still believe in magic, you just might really enjoy it!

Overall, it's a great movie. However, the love between the children and their parents' killer felt too far-fetched and unnatural to me. The specific details of the murder were unnecessary for the story's progression - a lesser crime would have sufficed to sentence the man to care for the children. Thankfully, this early flaw is quickly forgotten as the movie redeems itself later on. The child actors were funny and charming, playing their roles with a disarming authenticity that young audience members will easily relate to. Older viewers will appreciate the dashing Saif Ali Khan, who always seems to appear in a bathrobe, as well as the divine Rani Mukherjee playing the role of the heavenly housekeeper.

It's an enjoyable film that fans of Hum Tum will also appreciate, with the same lead actors and a similar vibe (including the happy ending). The story borrows elements from Hollywood classics, but it's a pleasure to watch. On the plus side: the music is nice, the song sequences fit well into the main narrative, the child actors do a good job, and the visuals are impressive. On the downside: unlike Kunal Kohli's earlier films, the songs aren't particularly memorable, the ending feels a bit overly sentimental and familiar, and I wish the dog and hamster had more screen time in the second half! Overall, it's a lighthearted comedy that touches on some serious and topical themes in a subtle way, like India's history and future, Bollywood's global ambitions, and religion.

The kids are nice. The story was very well told but, it was to simple. A little more details would have been nice.
Uplifting, insightful... and so rejuvenating! A little love, a little magic!
